Peter got started in the concrete business quite by accident. A friend of his owned an insurance salvage business and Peter would take the various items and sell them at swap meets throughout the Seattle area (Fremont Market). In the course of doing this he met someone who was selling concrete statuary. He purchased several sitting cats and placed them on his van to hold an Indian rug in place. As people passed his display they all wanted to know how much the cats were selling for. It wasn't long before Peter was enrolled in sculpting and mold making classes.
Peter spent the early years of his life in the Cotswold region of England. This area of Britain is famous for its beautiful villages and use of a honey colored stone on its buildings. This is where his love for architecture and masonry was born. One of the buildings that influenced Peter the most is the Woodchester Mansion. This unfinished mansion is a prime example of gothic architecture located in the Cotswold's of England.
